Iryna Senyuta was elected National Consultant in the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe “EU and Council of Europe Working Together to Strengthen the Ombudsperson’s Capacity to Protect Human Rights” on “Preventing misconduct through effective implementation of the National preventive mechanism in the Ombudsman + format”.
Iryna will work to study the legal and organizational preconditions for creating a rehabilitation mechanism for victims of torture in Ukraine.
The project “EU and Council of Europe Working Together to Strengthen the Ombudsperson’s Capacity to Protect Human Rights” aims to increase the level of human rights protection in Ukraine and strengthen the operational capacity of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in particular in the field of prevention of ill-treatment in places of detention.
