Today we get acquainted more closely with newly elected Honorary Ambassador of 2019-2021, head of the Department of Normal Physiology, Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytsky, doctor of medical sciences, active member of Shevchenko Scientific Society – Oksana Zayachkivska.
Oksana Zayachkivska does research that is dedicated to gastroenterological physiology, stress and development of preclinical models of gastroenterological diseases, interpretation of molecular mechanisms of cytoprotection, search of new biomarkers of stress and development of anti-stress novel drugs, and investigates the role of factors in stress resistance formation. Her scientific work is represented in more than 250 original scientific papers.
She is a member of International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) – Gastrointestinal Section, The Physiological Society (UK), Global GI Club in FASEB, Selye International Institute for Advanced Studies, RECOOP The Regional Cooperation for Health, Science and Technology (RECOOP HST) Consortium, Ukrainian Physiological Society, Ukrainian Medical Society, Shevchenko Scientific Society.
Oksana Zayachkivska was a lecturer at International Summer School for Medical Students From Hans Selye’s original concept to recent advances. An interactive educational experience (2014-2016) accredited by the University of California Irvine.
She is also editor-in-chief of the journal of the Proceedings of the Shevchenko Scientific Society. Medical Sciences; member of the editorial boards of several other international journals: Frontiers in Pharmacology, Southeastern European Medical Journal; reviewer of the World Journal of Gastroenterology, Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Fundamental & Clinical Pharmacology, The Ukrainian Biochemical Journal, Croatian Medical Journal.
Oksana Zayachkivska was a member of orgcommettee of international workshop “Knowledge Transfer Pathways from Research to Patient Treatment”.
Moreover she is a co-organizer of SMART LION conference (2017, 2018, 2019) (Science Medicine Arts Research Translational Lviv International Opportunity Network). Almost 100 participants took part in it.
Oksana Zayachkivska is an author of 3 popular science books on Lviv scholars, co-organizer of Henry Beck’s art exhibition “The World of Adolf Beck through the eyes of Henry Beck: completely unofficial”.
