According to the results of the competition, Lviv Honorary Ambassador Iryna Senyuta was elected as a legal advisor – expert in the OSCE project «Harmonization of Existing Ukrainian Regulations on Biosafety and Biosecurity with International Standards».
As part of the project, Ms. Iryna will work on an act – the draft Law on Biosafety and Biosecurity. The draft law will be created until 2025 within the framework of the Strategy for Biosafety and Biosecurity Assurance under the principle of «single health», approved by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 27.11.2019#1416-p.
The protection of human and animal life and health, prevention of the spread of dangerous infectious diseases, timely counteraction to infectious diseases, especially in today’s pandemic conditions, are a topical issue, and the Law can become an appropriate regulatory framework for biosafety and biosecurity in Ukraine.
