On October 28, 2020, the international professional organization Women in Localization (W.L.) announced the opening of a branch in Ukraine. Tetyana Struk, head of the Linguistic Center® translation company and Lviv Honorary Ambassador, became the chairman.
The managing team of the Ukrainian branch also includes another Lviv resident – Iryna Lebedieva, ILTech Translations company, as well as representatives of companies working in the field of localization: Marta Chereshnovska, Lilt, Maria Malykhina, Technolex, Olesia Zaitseva, Just Translate It, Iryna Tulovska, Postmodern Postproduction.

The opening of the branch will take place on November 11, 2020 at 11:00 and will be broadcasted from the off-line studio of the Lviv Convention Bureau. During the ceremony, representatives of the managing team will talk through about the goals of the organization and share plans for the coming months. The invited guests of the event are Jennifer Vela-Valido from the Expedia Group company, the head of the British branch, and Iryna Rybnikova, Positive Technologies, geo-manager of Women in Localization. Representatives of the companies that supported the opening ceremony will also join the event: ProZ.com, UTICamp, TransTools, Technolex.
The event, as well as the Ukrainian branch and social media pages (Facebook, LinkedIn) can be joined by anyone who works in the field of globalization, localization, internationalization and translation and supports the principles of equality of all professionals, regardless of gender.
