LVIV HONORARY AMBASSADORS ON THE INFORMATION AND DIPLOMATIC FRONT OF THE WAR Comments Off on LVIV HONORARY AMBASSADORS ON THE INFORMATION AND DIPLOMATIC FRONT OF THE WAR

The world conference industry, like the entire Western world, is divided into those who recognize russia’s war against Ukraine, express support, stop working with russia, and those who are still waiting, picking up words, and hoping that everything will go away. We wish them to recover quickly, to take the side of Ukraine. And now we will focus on those who are already involved in the process of isolating Russia.

Many efforts on the information and diplomatic front are made by Lviv Honorary Ambassadors. Here are just a few of the highlights we’ve been able to achieve:

  • Iryna Senyuta and her colleagues appealed to the European Association of Medical Law to support Ukraine. At the meeting, the EAHL (European Association of Medical Law) adopted a resolution supporting Ukraine, condemning the invasion of russia, in particular the violation of the principles of medical neutrality, excluding the representation of russia from the association, and also exempting from payment of membership fees of Ukrainian members of the EAHL for 2022.
  • Hryhoriy Dmytriv published an ECM (European Crystallographic Association) appeal, in which the association condemned the war of russia in Ukraine, stressed that the Association plans to hold its congress in Lviv in 2025.
  • Fedir Yurochko asked ESPO (European Society of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology) to exclude russia from the list of its members. The Society supported Ambassadors’ request.
  • Oksana Zayachkivska reported that WMA (World Medical Association) and CPME (Standing Committee of Doctors of Europe) supported Ukraine and Ukrainian doctors. Also, ASPHER (Association of Public Health Schools in the European Region) has ceased cooperation with schools and universities in russia. The British Society of Physiology sent a letter of support to Ukraine. Crossref (Association of publishers of scientific publications) supported Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war, sent a letter of support to NTS members.
  • Andriy Bazylevych asked medical organizations to provide medicines for Ukraine. The European Forum of Medical Associations (EFMA), the World Medical Association (WMA), the Standing Committee of European Physicians (CPME) and the Israel Medical Association (IMA) will donate more than 1 million euros of medical care.
  • Roman Kizyma, Andriy Kuzyk became the organizers of transportation of cancer patients to hospitals in the EU for treatment. Since the beginning of the war, it has been possible to organize 8 convoys with children.
  • Yuriy Kosenko joined in receiving assistance from the State Food and Veterinary Service of Lithuania, as well as from Lithuanian companies producing and distributing veterinary drugs, which responded and provided Ukraine with assistance with veterinary drugs to support animal husbandry and protect the health of animals in the regions affected by combat actions.
