In consequence of the constant cooperation with the US Children’s Hospital – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – active membership in the Eurasian Alliance of Pediatric Oncologists of the ST Jude Global SIOP program Roman Kizyma and his colleague managed to implement another important international project.

The West Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center has been included in an American project on treating severe cancer.

As part of the project, medical and scientific data on all cases of malignant diseases of hospital patients will become part of the global database and Lviv doctors will have access to the register of children with cancer in different countries. At any time, if necessary, they will be able to see how doctors treat cancer in Switzerland, the United States, Australia etc. Pediatric patients have the opportunity to receive state-of-the-art treatment. The hospital has already purchased network and computer equipment, and has conducted a certified training course for the research team.

Roman Kizyma is a member of the Eurasian Alliance of Pediatric Oncologists of the ST Jude Global SIOP program. He has participated in numerous conferences  in other countries. On his recommendation and with the support of the Lviv Convention Bureau Lviv won the right to hold an international conference of pediatric oncologists, organized by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event is planned for the end of all quarantine restrictions.
